“Workflow to me starts from the first words we spend together. Initial feedback is crucial because it makes me understand the idea of the song and therefore, the best sound direction for it.
My approach to mastering is very simple: I like to listen. I put myself in the shoes of a listener, who however has the privilege of being able to work on the song to make it feel exactly as he would like.
I listen, then try to “translate” the emotions I want to feel in reality, using my techniques and tools. When the song works at its best, I then focus on the technical side, to make sure everything is good and ready to go.
In the end, I always check my masters on RX, a brilliant audio editor, looking for distortions, clicks, pops or noises to remove. A final quality check before sending out.“
